SIXTH formers are celebrating at Carlton le Willows Academy after picking up their A Level results – with 89% going on to study at their first choice university.

Said Head of Sixth Form Abigail Emsley: “I am delighted to see so many students secure places at their first choice university. We wish all our Year 13 the very best as they embark on to the next stage in their educational journey.”

Among those who achieved stellar results are Harrison Hicklin – one of the Academy’s top performing students – who collected three A* and an A grade and will now go on to study medicine at Birmingham University.

Ruby Randall (pictured) was delighted with her grades – two A*s and an A – which has secured her a place at Cambridge University where she will study English Literature.

Other first choice destinations include University of Durham, Leeds, Nottingham and Liverpool.
