Assessments

To track pupil progress and ensure that they are in receipt of the correct support we carry out regular Trust Assessments. The level of expectation and frequency of these assessments increases from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4.

In Key Stage 3 pupils will have the following assessments. 

  • English x 4 
  • Maths x 4 
  • Science x 2 
  • Geography x 2 
  • History x 2 
  • French x 2  
  • Computing x 2  

To support pupils, staff will carry out revision sessions in class during the week before the assessment. Pupils will be informed by their teacher which lesson the Assessment will take place in. Pupils can use their Knowledge Organiser, any department specific revision materials or any online platforms to revise such as Sparx. KS3 Assessments for English and Maths will take place during the following weeks.

Key Stage 4 Year 10 

In Year 10 pupils will be assessed at four assessment points for Maths and two assessment points for all other core subjects

Key Stage 4 Year 11 

Year 11 pupils have three sets of Trial examinations in the build up to their GCSE examinations.

Please note that the exact date for each assessment will be finalised closer to the time and may be subject to some change.

In Key Stage 4 pupils will be issued with an examination timetable as their examinations will take place in centralised exam halls. Pupils will be provided with a range of revision materials.
